Oliveira Doesn’t Quit, Wins Lightweight Title
Charles Oliveira proved his championship mentality on Saturday, surviving several bombs in the first round to come-from-behind and win by knockout in round two.
Oliveira earned two knockdowns in round two, 32 total strikes and one takedown, and scored 109.17 DK points at 8.7k.
Michael Chandler seemed to be on the path for another first round knockout finish, but was visibly exhausted by the end of round one, and wilted immediately in round. He’ll likely be dependent on early knockouts moving forward, at least against the top-tier of the LW division.
Chandler landed 30 strikes and scored 492.01 points on DK.
